The red berries really show beautifully against the more subdued colors! I do miss cardinals--and envy you for having birds that actually bathe in the bird bath. The birds I see drink plenty, but won't even dabble their toes, and it's not a very deep bath.
Stacy, the red was about the only color in the woods, so it drew me like a magnet ... The bird bath was an impulse purchase, and one of the best we've ever made. I read later that birds like baths with rough surfaces (perhaps so they don't slip). Anyway, birds of all kinds seem to love it.
Lovely fall shots. I was reading back through your posts and wanted to comment that deer love camellias in southeastern PA. You can't grow them without a deer fence. Thanks for your comment on my Cliff post, as I said in my reply you caught my mixed feelings perfectly.
Carolyn, that's interesting about deer loving camellias in Pa. I have noticed they occasionally eat a few of the the blooms that are within reach, but for the most part leave them alone.
Foxglove Lane, thanks for the visit! I hadn't noticed the changing color schemes with each post - guess I'm following mother nature's lead :)

Lovely seasonal pics.
look at all the berries...mine are stripped clean by the birds...of course the bushes are still growing into themselves..lovely reds!!
Bridget, now I know why we decorate with holly berries!
Donna, these bushes get quite large growing wild along the creek. I have a small one in my garden that is quite prolific also.

I love how your colour schemes change with each post. Lovely russets always great to find colour in mid-winter, plenty of it here on your blog:~)
