Sunset Among the Trees

Nature often preempts my plans for posts. At sunset she did it again.

We live on a hill among tall oaks, hickories and loblolly pines that for most of the year block the sky. The sunlight arrives later in the morning and departs earlier from the woods.

Tonight the clouds reflected the pink light and the trees were magic silhouettes for a few brief minutes.

No day is the same in a garden.

That is one gorgeous sky and the trees look so majestic against it! Great captures! I am with you that I often have plans to post about a particular subject and then nature provides something spectacular that trumps my post.

Nice job capturing the subtle winter moods, here and in the previous post too Sheila, really lovely.

Karin, I like that I am not in full control of my blog ... or anything, really :) So glad I looked up at the right moment and ran outside with the camera.

Linniew, the posts look so wintry, and yet the temps have been near 70. I'm not complaining, though!

Beth, glad you liked the post. Surprise is one of my favorite things about gardening. I like it when plants, animals and even the light of sunset turn up when I least expect!

Donna, I like sharing :) Thanks for your comment.

What a magical color, Sheila--so wonderfully other-worldly! It's nice when trees show us different beauties when they're out of leaf.
