On the other hand, when I see it for sale in nurseries, I roll my eyes: who needs to *buy* goldenrod? For some reason it seems like it's meant to be an "in the wild" flower.

What a beautiful reminder of your stay in Maine!Stacyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08297253093260251145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1696676219167858431.post-68175057851201126622011-09-17T10:35:39.238-04:002011-09-17T10:35:39.238-04:00Donna, Oh, to have a meadow!

I never tried it in a bouquet - excellent idea.Sheilahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16932826147522119761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1696676219167858431.post-7084378457183075042011-09-17T01:07:11.022-04:002011-09-17T01:07:11.022-04:00Yeah, I know. And people say it's an allergen, I've read that Goldenrod pollen is actually too heavy to carry on the wind. It's a great cut flower for autumn bouquets, too. A situation of right plant, right place. It does reseed itself prolifically, but who's to complain of masses of golden yellow?

Karin, solidago is a favorite of mine, too. But most any plant against that lovely water could hardly look weedy. Especially not one with that autumn color.linniewhttp://linniew.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
